Tata Electric part of the Tata group of companies in India is expected to replace cogentrix, the US power group, in a 1,000MW power project in the southern state of karnataka. The US company walked out of the $1.3 bn project earlier this month, finally defeated by official delays and frustrations over a period of seven years.
