They may be down but they're certainly not out of the reckoning. Following thwarting of their plans of gaining a major foothold in the power sector of Gujarat by the Hong Kong-based multinational China Light & Power, which piped them to the post in acquiring Powergen's 650 mw Pagathuan plant, the Tatas are now exploring the possibility of setting up a greenfield power plant in the state.
