Scientists have reported two advances in the controversial field of stem cell research. Biologists in china have fused human cells with rqabbit eggs, creating a hybrid from whcih they have extracted stem cells. And researchers in the UK have grown stem cells for the first time from spare human embryos left over from fertility treatment.
