Gov. Ikuo Hirayama of Niigta Prefecture (Japan) on June 1 asked Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) President Nobuya Minami to postpone the company's planned pluthermal nuclear power generation project. Minami who received the request from Hirayam by telephone said Tepco should now put the plan on hold.
