The third unit of the Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP) at Rawabhata went critical a minute before midnight on Friday thus crossing a significant milestope in India's nuclear power programme. RAPP-3 is the second nuclear power unit to become operational within three months. In September, the second unit of the Kaiga Atomic Power Project in Karnataka had become critical.
