Chinese inspectors have criticised shoddy construction associated with the Three Gorges Dam, likening several bridges built to assist in the resettlement of local people to "the dregs of bean curd (tofu)". "Tofu scum" construction related to Three Gorges resettlement will be resolutely demolished and rebuilt," the Beijing Daily quoted provincial officials saying.
