The government of India is planning to corporatise 3 state electricity boards by the end of the current finacial year as part of a greater plan to unbundle generation, transmission and distribution of power. It will also chalk out a draft plan to develop a single and unified power system for the whole country which would entail a saving of Rs 10,000 crore over the next decade, by the 11th Plan.
