The Russian space agency on Tuesday issued the precise timetable for dumping Mir, saying the 15-year-old space station would be brought down into the South Pacific on Friday with a six-hour series of measured engine firings. After Mir descends to an altitude of roughly 210 kilometres by early Thursday, Mission Control will switch on the station's computer and align Mir for descent.
