The government proposes to add 20,000 mw of transmission capacity by the end of the decade to facilitate inter region transfer of power. Speaking at the Indo-Norwegian power conference, power minister Suresh Prabhu said the government would encourage foreign participation in renovation and modernisation of power projects.
