There seems to be no end to the woes of the much delayed Assam Gas Cracker Project. After the change in site from Tengakhat to Lepetkata after objections being raised by the Indian Air Force, the prospect of the plant coming up at the new site too appears to be dim with the people occupying the site refusing to vacate the plot.Joining forces with them is the influential All Assam Tribal Sangha (AATS) which has objected to tribal land being usurped in the name of development.
