The apex court order dated December 6, 2001, had stated: 'It appears that vehicles which transit through Delhi do not adhere to vehicular standards which are applicable in Delhi...they are not Euro-II compliant, nor are they using low sulphur and low benzene fuel.' The directive further stated: 'There's no reason why these vehicles should transit through Delhi thereby adding to pollution levels and traffic." At present, trucks enter Delhi at 12 points. These are the Singhu border, Tikri border, Rajokri border, Dhansa border, Aayanagar border, Badarpur border, Ghazipur border, Apsara border, Bhopra border, Kalindi border, Suraj Kund border and Pul Prahaladpur border. The trucks are allowed on Delhi roads from 9.30 pm till 5 am and 11 am till 5 pm. These have been framed so as not to overlap with office peak hours.
