UK electricity tariffs 'among cheapest in EU'

Domestic electricity prices in the UK are the fifth cheapest in the European Union in spite of strong pound, but industrial prices are less competitive, according to a study published. Research by the Electricity Association of Britain highlights big differences in power tariffs and the structure of domestic electricity industries between the 15 EU countries, which next year must start to open their markets to competition.
