UK petrol still world's dearest despite tax cut

British motor fuels remain the dearest in Europe, and probably the world, despite cuts in excise duties announced in the annual British budget on Wednesday. "British petrol and diesel prices are still comfortably the highest in Europe, diesel by a mile," said Peter Regnier of London's Oil Price Assessments Limited (OPAL). "It's very likely British fuel is the most expensive in the world."
