Britain's Energy Minister Helen Liddellrejected yesterday proposals by Swiss-Swedish engineering group ABB Energy DevelopmentCompany Ltd to build a 450 megawatt gas-fired power station in Eastern England. The project at Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire was turned down as it was not in accordance with the government'sstricter consents policy for gas-fired power stations, Liddell said in a statement.
