Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown on Wednesday offered tax relief to companies investing in green energy technologies in a move warmly welcomed by environmental groups. Brown told parliament that companies that invest in energy saving technologies and in innovative clean energy will be able to claim tax relief on the capital depreciation in one year.
