UNDP, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the World Energy Council will cooperate in a global initiative to prepare a scientific assessment of the linkages between energy, economic, environmental and human security issues -- including poverty, health concerns and pollution. The assessement will identify changes and new energy strategies needed to meet objectives in these areas, and will analyze technology and policy options.
