A multi-crore power scam has come to light in Uttar Pradesh even as the state reels under the impact of soaring temperatures, drying taps, long hours of power cuts. For several months now, power officials in Uttar Pradesh have done the unimaginable by feeding boulders and stones instead of coal into the thermal power units. This has led to frequent breakdowns and shutdowns in these units that is a major factor that is responsible for the present power crisis.
