Following the consistent failure of Uttar Pradesh government resources for financing the 9th five year plan, the Central Planning commission has reduced the outlay for the 10th five year plan which commenced from April 1 this year. With reduction in outlay, the growth rate during the 10th plan period has also been reduced by the state government to 7.6 per cent as against the national target of eight per cent.
