Villages of Dewas district in Madhya Pradesh will escape the severity of drought this summer with the adoption of water harvesting and watershed management activities undertaken a year ago. Sustained availability of water has consequently led to increase in agriculture production in many villages. Encouraged by the success of Dewas, many other villages which could not take up ground water conservation activities, also took corrective measures.
