The Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi Vijai Kapoor on Saturday said that urban and rural areas should be seen as complementary to each other and not opponents. Mr Kapoor was speaking after laying the foundationstone of the Jan Nayak Knowledge Centre. He said that focussing on rural areas would boost agriculture which in turn would increase the purchasing power of the rural people. Besides, such a system would help generate demand for industrial goods in urban areas. Mr Kapoor said that the Jan Nayak Knowledge Centre would help in bridging the urban-rural divide besides strengthening the bonds between Delhi and Haryana.
