U.S. approval for Alaskan drilling irks Anderson

Canada is disappointed that the U.S. House of Representatives approved drilling for gas and oil in an Alaskan wildlife preserve, Environment Minister David Anderson said Friday. Approval for the drilling, considered by environmentalists and the Canadian government as a threat to the pristine wilderness and a critically important caribou herd, passed in the U.S. House on Thursday.
