The American College of surgeons has conferred its covered "International Guest Scholar" award on Dr Ashok Kumar Hemal of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, in recognition of his outstanding work in laparoscopic surgery, an institute spokesman said on Thursday.
