A patent has been granted in Britain and the US on the nuclear transfer technique used by Scotland's Rosline Institute to clone Dolly the sheep. The patent was awarded to Geron-Biomed, a Californian biotechnology company that last year bought Roslin Biomed, which was spun out from the institute.
