South Korean and U.S. officials remained apart on the issue of how to finance the light-water reactor project in North Korea during their talks yesterday. Seoul officials have been embarrassed by the U.S.'s intransigent stance that it will not contribute towards the cost of the reactors which is estimated to exceed $5 billion.
