U.S. doubts rise on North Korean nuclear project

The multibillion-dollar nuclear energy program at the heart of reconciliation efforts between North and South Korea faces its most severe test under the new administration in Washington. In the face of North Korean threats to jettison its agreement to halt efforts to develop nuclear weapons in exchange for technical and financial aid in developing two nuclear reactors, U.S. officials and independent experts question whether the reactors are worth the effort and expense, or are even relevant to North Korea's needs.
