US, Singapore finalise free trade agreement

The United States and Singapore have already finalised a free trade deal that opens up the city state's prized financial sector, US trade representative Robert Zoellick said. The free trade deal, the fist between the US and an Asian country, covers financial and legal services, telecommunications, investment, telecommunications, investment, tourism and even modifications of Singapore's ban on the import of chewing gum, he said.
