Union minister for rural development M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said his ministry had planned to set up one self-help group (SHG) in each village in the country within three years. Speaking after the launching of support to training and employment programme at Anhaneyapuram, about 25 km from Tirupati, at a cost of Rs 1 crore by a Tirupati-based voluntary organisation Rashtriya seva samithi (Rass), he said the SHGs would be extended to rural areas as women themselves had understood the positive effects of the SHGs and were striving to have one in their villages.
