Victim's relatives 'told of BSE link by 1993'

Relatives of victims of new variant CJD, the fatal human brain condition, were given a diagnosis linking the disease to BSE as early as 1993 - nearly three years before the government admitted the risk of human contagian, the BSE inquiry will be told. The allegation was made by Beryl Rimmer, grandmother of Victoria Rimmer who died of CJD in 1997.
