Protesters from Prachuap Khiri Khan appealed to Anand Panyarachun yesterday to support their attempt to scrap the Ban Krud power plant project. Some 200 villagers arrived at Saha Union Group headquarters on Sukhumvit road on three coaches early yesterday to see the former prime minister of Thailand. Jirawut Jaewsakul, leader of Ban Krud Environmental Protection Club, said: "We want to meet Khun Anand who is chairman of Saha Union. We believe he cares about the environment. Now the company is involved in building a power plant that will damage the environment and our livelihood."
