About 1,000 villagers rallied in the provincial town yesterday to protest against a planned public hearing on a coal-fired power plant project in Bang Saphan district of Thailand. The villagers from Ban Bor Nok in Muang district, and from Ban Krut in Bang Saphan, gathered outside the town district office around 10am. They later marched around town before stopping outside the provincial hall to hand a protest letter to deputy governor Samrerng Chua-chavalit.
