Union Minister for Steel Virbhadra Singh is upset over the alleged attempts to derail the Rs 260-crore Arki Limestone project, for which the Steel Authority of India Limited signed an agreement with the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) in November 2009. Arki has huge limestone mining reserves to generate substantial income for the state government. The project promises to boost economic development in the Arki belt and provide jobs to the locals.
