The agency responsible for screening environmental impactassessments (EIAs) has admitted overlooking a coral reef off the proposed site of a power plant in Ban Krut, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand. The Office of Environmental Policy and Planning (OEPP) said the project developer, Union Power Development Co, must resubmit a coral reef study. OEPP secretary-general Chatree Chueyprasit said the coral reef study in the power plant's assessment was based on Fisheries Department report.
