Until as recently as 1997, Bhoyare Khurd was an unregarded speck on the map of Maharashtra. But two years ago, it managed to qualify for the Indo-German Watershed Development Programme (IGWDP), and life has never been the same again. While NABARD is putting Rs 100 crore into the watershed development programme, the German government, which has already funnelled Rs 40 crore, is contemplating another sizable grant.
