The World Bank has asked the State government to expedite the ongoing development projects and commended the economic reforms undertaken in the State. Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who briefed media persons on a project review meeting held with a WB team in Bangalore on Monday, said the team wanted water supply, irrigation and road construction projects to be speeded up. He said the team appreciated the progress made in economic reforms and general financial position. "Though the State's achievement was above the national average, the team members felt that the progress should be on par with projects in Japan and China,' he added.
