West Bengal's Ninth Plan power outlay has been slashed from Rs 8,390 crore to Rs 6,935 crore. However, even the reduced outlay is more than double the Eighth Plan outlay of Rs 3,045 crore. The plan outlay on power accounts for around 40 per cent of West Bengal's total Ninth Plan outlay of Rs 16,660 crore.
