Piparia : The unabated illegal poaching of wild animals in Piparia-Pachmarhi forest range has dealt a severe blow to people's faith in Forest Department's squad. The entire area was rocked by recovery of hide of a black buck in 14 pieces from a Tavera SUV on the other day. The recovery was made by the squad of Forest Department on a tip off from an informer from the route of Belparadi settlement near village Baru Adhana.
Ranger RN Malviya told our reporter that action was taken against four poachers, which included two constables of Maharashtra Police department - Ramesh Bobade and Arvind Meshram - along with Anil Damore and driver Prabhakar Marabi. The action was taken by the squad of Forest Department under guidance of SDOP JP Sharma. A case has been registered against the accused under Wild Animal Act 1972. A Tavera SUV ( MH 40 A 8271) used by the culprits has also been confiscated by the police. The accused have been sent under judicial remand by the court.
Last days, the Forest Department arrested the accused of poaching within 24 hours after receiving information of recovery of a dead leopard near Apsara Vihar in Pachmarhi. The accused told department that they used to kill wild boars by snare, in which the leopard was caught accidentally.
