Govt told to check land acquisition: Private sector entrepreneurs setting up wind farms for generating power are acquiring prime land far in excess of requirement. Pointing out this disturbing trend, a Parliamentary Committee called for immediate steps to check this problem.The Standing Committee on Energy, reviewing the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources(MNES), recommended that suitable guidelines be framed and communicated to the State Governments for compliance.
