An additional 1188.34 MWs of power is proposed to be added to the generating capacity of Andhra Pradesh during 1999-2000 with the commissioning of units in state sector and private sector besides short gestation plants. This was stated by the Minister for Energy, Mr. Kalidindi Ramachandra Raju, in the State Assembly on Friday. A budgetary grant of over Rs 666.27 crores is proposed for the power development for the year.
