The World Bank has given Cameroon a loan of 3.7 billion CFA francs ($5.3 million) to help it manage environmental aspects of a controversial oil pipeline project, official daily Cameroon Tribune said yesterday. The loan will help fund phase-by-phase observation of the project to ensure that the executing consortium lives up to its environmental obligations, the paper said.
