World Bank nod for additional water schemes

The World Bank has given nod to the Chennai State Government for taking up additional schemes, costing about Rs.157 crores, under the Water Resources Consolidation Project (WRCP). rehabilitation and modernisation of 620 rain-fed tank systems in Palar, Tamiraparani and Vagai basins are among the works that are going to be executed. This component alone will cost nearly Rs.106 crores.
