By 2025, global wealth will decline sharply by about $31 trillion, from $85 trillion currently to $54 trillion, registering a fall of 36%, according to McKinsey. While Japan, US and Europe will witness a decline in wealth, India and China will witness an increase in financial assets. All over the world, growth in household financial wealth will decline from 4.5% currently to a historic low of 1.3%. If left unchecked, this shortfall in global wealth could significantly reduce future economic well being, investment and growth. The aging population will face difficulty in funding retirement and medical needs.
