It was not easy for Nirabhra Mandal, a student of Class VI to organise an anti-pollution rally in Howrah, but he did it and also got 234 of his companions (all 11-years-old) to support him. Whether anyone cares or not, these students of Don Bosco School, Liluah, are definitely concerned about the rising level of pollution in Howrah. They began the anti-pollution rally, led by Nirabhra, at Don Bosco School, Liluah, at 1 p.m. yesterday and covered the vicinity before coming back to the school. The rally was meant to be silent but the students could not control their enthusiasm and shouted: "We care for Howrah.' They carried posters and banners requesting people to do their best to curb pollution. They also visited residential areas and distributed leaflets, detailing about the harmful effects of pollution and suggesting remedies to pedestrians, shopkeepers and residents.
