Smaller wonder

Busy people will now be able to carry a portable version of their Personal Computer (PC) database in a memory card as small as a credit card. Rex Pro slots into a laptop computer, or connects to a desktop PC through a docking station. The card copies address lists, diary entries and notes straight from the PC, storing them on some 512 kilobytes of onboard memory. The readout can be checked through a built-in liquid crystal display (LCD). The card has six buttons that allow scrolling and searching. Two button-sizes cells run it for some six months. The manufacturers, Franklin Electronic Publishers, Starfish Software and Citizen Watch, reduced the size of the card by forming the chips on the liquid crystal display glass itself.
