Fukuda urges Bono to pitch climate change issues to Japanese people

Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda urged rock star and antipoverty campaigner Bono on Thursday to stress the importance of fighting global warming through his music, Foreign Ministry officials said. Fukuda told Bono there is a need to tackle problems related to climate change, infectious diseases, use of water, and desertification, and called on the lead singer of the band U2 to use his music to show the Japanese people the significance of combating climate change and global warming.
