Farmers of Rangpur may not achieve the production target of aman crops this season due to attack of pests. Pest attack may not remain confined to these areas. Agronomists identify inadequate use of potash and phosphate fertilisers as the main reason behind the attack. Due to inadequate use of the fertilisers plants do not gain strength and maturity necessary to resist pest attacks.
