Workshop by CSE

as part of its People's Management of Water campaign, the Centre for Science and Environment (cse) organised a workshop recently. A number of architects, builders and engineers were invited to share their experiences on the techniques of water harvesting.

Amongst those present were S Vishwanath, an engineer from Bangalore, who described his work on an industrial complex where water harvesting work was taken up after it was found to be cheaper than municipal or private water. Rahul Ranade, engineer, cse, explained the basic concepts of water harvesting using the systems designed by cse in the Delhi region.

Anil Agarwal, Director, cse , pointed out that water issues cannot be dealt with in isolation but problems such as atmospheric pollution should also be considered.A manual on urban water harvesting was also released by cse.
