PESTS ATTACK

Pests have attacked the Irri-Boro fields in Thakurgaon, Bengal, thus affecting the possibility of a good crop. In the early stage of the crops, pests called majra attacked the leave of the plant thereby hampering the growth of the corn-stalk. Another pest, hispa, attacked paddy plants sucking the juice and chlorophyll of the leaves. Reports from Akcha, Rajagaon, Ruhea, Debipur, Baragaon, Akhanagar, and Auliapur unions of Thakugaon sadar thana, reveal that many paddy fields in those unions were attacked by majra and hispa.
