New wind turbine

Wind Energy Group (WEG), a UK- based company has developed a new wind turbine to cater to the demand for medium-scale three-blade wind turbines. The turbine, MS4-600 has a 41-metre diameter rotor that operates downwind of the tower and can self-align with the wind. The blades are very flexible to reduce the over-loading during normal operation and also bend back to control the wind-load during storms. The 40-metre-high prototype tower is probably the most slender ever produced for a 600 kilo watt turbine.
