ON THE TIGER TRAIL

Bhutan has set out on a tiger conservation project and has initiated a survey to check out the exact number of tigers in the country. According to Karma Tshering, programme coordinator of the Bhutan. Tiger Conservation Project of the ministry of agriculture, "The project was initiated because we wanted to find out about the indigenous species and because we want to provide a habitat for tigers." Further, Bhutan can ensure a genetically rich species of tigers as it can provide a wide forest cover which enables easy movement for tigers.
