Decision on Maheshwar Hydroelectric Project, Madhya Pradesh
Ministry of Environment and Forests has ordered the lifting of the stop work order on the construction of the last five spillway gates of the controversial Maheshwar Hydel Project being constructed on river Narmada in Madhya Pradesh by the S. Kumars Group of Companies.
The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) lifted the stop-work order on the construction of the last five spillway gates of the Maheshwar dam in Madhya Pradesh. The Maheshwar dam is the country’s first privately financed hydroelectric project and is being constructed by Shree Maheshwar Hydel Power Corporation, which is promoted by S Kumars.
